I'll be honest - I was hesitant at first too. I used to think that TikTok was just for teenagers and people showing off their dance moves. But I was wrong! I definitely hopped on the TikTok train later than I should have. But, as they say, better late than never 😇
I'm bringing this up today because I genuinely believe that TikTok can be a game-changer for promoting your products. Whether you're in e-commerce, dropshipping, or even affiliate marketing, TikTok can be an incredibly powerful tool.
Creating a video takes very little time (we're talking short 40-50 second clips), and if it goes viral thanks to the algorithm, it can bring you a ton of views and potentially new customers (and money).
The number one rule - and it's crucial - is to make your videos ENTERTAINING. Don't try to make sales videos; nobody will be interested. Instead, focus on showcasing your product in a fun, intriguing, and engaging way, emphasizing its benefits.
The second rule is to pay attention to these 3 key factors:
The hook of your video: The first 3 seconds are crucial. Be original and get straight to the point. No time to waste!
Watch time: Aim to have as many people as possible watch your video to the end. There are several techniques for this. For example, you can tease something at the beginning and reveal it only at the end. Or create a storyline that keeps viewers engaged till the last second. Or even quickly skim through some elements to encourage multiple views.
The call-to-action: Always include a CTA at the end. Encourage viewers to follow your account, leave a comment, or check the link in your bio (which should lead to your online store, of course).
It's best to test your content frequently. Try posting 3 videos a day for a few days and see if it gains traction.
