Take the Ego-meter test!
You'll see that it's a simple little test, but it will significantly improve the quality of your texts.

Hey there! Have you ever taken the Ego-meter test?
You'll see that it's a simple little test, but it will significantly improve the quality of your texts.
Here's how you'll proceed:
Select the 5 product descriptions that you think are the most polished on your online store.
Now, spot all the following terms: We / Our / Ours / I / Me / My / Mine
How many did you find?
Ouch. That many?
Well, starting today, you're going to banish all these terms that talk about you. Sure, it flatters your ego, but it costs you sales!
Why?
Because you'll never seduce a visitor by talking about yourself. Honestly, all humans are wired the same way, they have only one obsession: themselves!
So, talk about them and only them!!
The art of persuasion (or copywriting) is precisely that. Find the deep motivation of your ideal customer and talk about them first and foremost. What they're feeling right now, their problems, and what your product will specifically bring to them.
You know what you have to do. Hunt down the I / We / Our... and replace them with words that will genuinely interest your readers: You / Your / Yours.
The only time you'll be allowed to use these ego-representing words is when you're testing storytelling (telling a story to your customers). But that, I'll explain in detail in a future email!
Have a great day,
Greg
